Iron loft angles vary to allow one to hit different distant shots with the same swing of the club, at least this is the mathematical reasoning. Many of us swing differently depending on the distance we want the ball to go, but you will see that this is not the case for professional golfers. This tells me what they say is true, that golf is 90% mental.
